DRY NEEDLING
Dry Needling is a Western practice, and although it is similar to Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in that it assists with pain control, there are distinct differences. Dry needling is used primarily to treat trigger points which can be considered “knots” in the muscle and the surrounding connective tissue (fascia) that can develop after an injury.
Research indicates that dry needling can be an effective intervention when combined with other treatments such as stretching and injury specific exercise.
